After growing up in the Napa Valley, Laura knew that she wanted to return to her hometown to practice law, a decision rooted in her love of all that the area has to offer and one too many snowy winters spent at the University of Notre Dame during undergraduate and law school. As a member of Gaw Van Male's Estate Planning and Elder Law practice, Laura strives to serve her clients and community with care and distinction.
Laura serves as the Vice President of the Napa Valley Woman Lawyers and is an active member of the Young Lawyers Division of the Napa County Bar Association. As a former member of the Justin Siena Mock Trial team, Laura also now enjoys judging local Mock Trial competitions. In 2015, Laura joined the Board of Napa Valley Support Services, a local non-profit organization that provides meaningful activities and services to individuals with disabilities.
Outside of the office, Laura's interests include cooking; enjoying Napa's fine restaurants with friends and family, and a love of travel ignited by her time spent studying abroad in Toledo, Spain. She has traveled extensively throughout both the United States and abroad. Most Fall weekends, Laura can be found watching college football and cheering on her beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Laura was raised in the Napa Valley prior to venturing east to attend college at the University of Notre Dame where she graduated cum laude from the History Honors Program. While at Notre Dame, she took on active leadership roles in student government and volunteer work through the Center for Social Concerns.
Laura returned to Notre Dame to attend law school, where she focused her coursework on estate planning, tax, and business transactions. During law school, she served as the Executive Managing Editor of the Notre Dame Journal of Law, Ethics, and Public Policy and was a member of the Dean's List. Upon graduation, Laura received the ABA-Bloomberg BNA Award for Excellence in the Study of Health Law based on her research and writing in the areas of long-term care planning and end-of-life care issues.
After law school, Laura returned to the Napa Valley to join GVM. Since joining the firm, Laura has served as a key member in the Elder Law practice area and has expanded her practice to include Basic and Advanced Estate Planning as well as Trust Administration across Napa and Solano Counties.Areas of Practice
