About Alston Ludwig

Alston Ludwig is a member of the firm’s Real Estate and Development Practice Group. He focuses his practice on helping companies and individuals achieve their goals from building homes and offices to developing communities. He also anticipates issues and helps solve problems which tend to arise as people try to work together in reaching those goals.More specifically, Alston is frequently asked by clients to assist them in creating common interest communities, generating rules and policies to govern those communities, and enforcing those rules and policies to ensure the vision for the community is preserved.Alston also assists clients in drafting and negotiating contracts to build homes and offices ensuring the firm’s clients’ expectations are met while their interests are protected. When disputes arise during projects, Alston advocates on their behalf.Prior to joining McGuire, Wood & Bissette, Alston practiced with the Jackson, Mississippi office of a large, regional law firm where he gained experience in business and commercial civil litigation. Alston uses this knowledge to advise clients on how to prevent small issues from becoming big problems, and, in the event a dispute arises, to guide them through the litigation process.Alston is a member of both Real Property and Construction Law sections of the North Carolina Bar Association. Alston is a member of the Asheville Home Builders Association and is actively involved with Asheville Chamber of Commerce where he serves on the Total Resource Campaign.Alston received his law degree from the University of Mississippi where he served as the Development Editor for the University of Mississippi Law Journal.
