Gary Almeter is a senior associate in the firm's litigation department. He has extensive experience working in a variety of types of matters in both State and Federal Courts. These include assisting in recovering alleged preference payments for a large bankrupt client and representing manufacturers in ongoing complex tort matters as well as being lead strategist in local civil matters. Mr. Almeter’s graduated from the University of Maryland's Carey School of Law in 2004, where he received the University of Maryland Public Service Award for his ongoing participation in the creation of the Baltimore Freedom Academy. Upon graduation, he served as the judicial law clerk to the Honorable Stuart Berger in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City of Maryland. Prior to joining Bowie & Jensen, Mr. Almeter practiced with Venable LLP and DLA Piper. Mr. Almeter is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association. He serves as a coach in the Towson Recreation Council Youth Soccer and serves as part of the Board of Directors for Best Buddies Maryland. He formerly served as an English teacher for three years in New York City before beginning his legal career.
