Jerry Lynn Maddox is an Austin native. She graduated with high honors from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and a minor in Italian. After graduation she spent two years in Chicago with Teach For America where she taught fifth grade. Jerry returned to Austin and received her J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law. During law school, she was an Articles Editor for the Texas Journal on Civil Liberties and Civil Rights and the Director of Street Law, a program that places law students in low income classrooms to teach students about civil rights and the law.Jerry is a member of the State Bar of Texas Construction Law Section, Austin Bar Association Construction Law Committee, Austin Young Lawyers Association, Travis County Women Lawyers’ Association, and Defense Research Institute Young Lawyers Committee and Construction Law Committee.Jerry currently serves as the Volunteer Chair of the Teach For America Austin Alumni Board and enjoys spending time outside with her two dogs, Roxy and Baxter.
