Kati Sanford Goodner is a Knoxville native and graduated with honors from Wake Forest University with a B.A. in English and minors in Italian and International Studies. She received her J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she was named a University of Tennessee Law Scholar, and graduated with high honors. During law school, Kati was actively involved in the Law Women organization, where she served in the roles of President and Philanthropy Chair. She also spent three years as an LSAT and GMAT instructor with a national test prep corporation.Kati practices civil litigation, primarily in the areas of Estate and Trust related litigation, employment issues, products liability, pharmaceutical defense, and insurance defense. Kati is admitted to practice in all state courts in Tennessee, as well as the Eastern and Middle Districts of Tennessee. She is a member of the Knoxville, Tennessee, and American Bar Associations, and enjoys being involved in the Barristers division of the Knoxville Bar Association and the KBA’s Unmet Legal Needs of Children Committee. Currently, Kati serves as the Co-Chair for the Barrister’s annual Mock Trial Competition for local high school students. She is also a member of East Tennessee Lawyer’s Association for Women and DRI.Outside the office, Kati enjoys volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children involved in custody and parental termination cases and is actively involved in the children’s and adoption ministries at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church. Kati is an avid equestrian and enjoys travelling with her husband, Nathan.
