MEYERS ROMAN ANNOUNCES NEW MANAGING PARTNER AND NEXT GENERATION OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE LEADERS
Cleveland, OH | January 22, 2017 – Meyers, Roman, Friedberg & Lewis (“Meyers Roman”) is pleased to announce that Seth P. Briskin has been named the firm’s new Managing Partner, effective January 1, 2018. In addition, partners Bryan J. Dardis and Jenifere R. Singleton have been elected to leadership positions on the firm’s Management Committee.
Seth succeeds Peter Turner, who will step down after six years of service and continue in his role as Chair of the firm’s Civil and Commercial Litigation practice. In its 20+ years, Meyers Roman has been led by two Managing Partners – Anne Meyers, founding partner, and Peter Turner. Seth will be the firm’s third, and youngest, Managing Partner and will continue to serve as Chair of the Labor & Employment Group.
Seth will work with Bryan and Jenifere to set the firm’s strategic direction, oversee firm governance and business operations, and cultivate the firm’s entrepreneurial culture. As a graduate of both the Cleveland Bridge Builders and Leadership Cleveland programs, Seth brings an action-oriented, collaborative and service-minded approach to leadership. Seth is focused on teamwork and proactively pursuing growth opportunities that are in the best interests of the firm and its clients.
“Business succession planning is an area that Meyers Roman counsels clients on to help their businesses both endure and succeed over the long-term,” said Peter Turner. “We are leading by example and implementing our own succession plan focused on leadership transition to foster the continued, successful growth of our firm. We are fortunate to have such a tremendous amount of talent and expertise to draw from, and we believe in leveraging this talent to continually infuse new perspectives and innovative ideas into our business. We are confident this new generation of leaders, who each have been part of the firm’s growth for 10+ years, will take Meyers Roman to the next level.”
“Peter has done a tremendous job successfully navigating the firm during his tenure as Managing Partner and I look forward to building on the accomplishments both he and Anne have made to meet the needs of our expanding client base,” said Seth. “I’m also excited to work with my colleagues on the Management Committee to explore strategic growth opportunities, ensure that our firm’s members are maintaining exceptional client service standards, and to further instill a firm-centric culture of inclusion, camaraderie, reward for hard work and service to the community.”
Seth Briskin’s practice spans a myriad of labor and employment law issues involving private, public sector and non-profit organizations with both unionized and non-unionized workforces. Since joining the firm in 2006 as a partner, he has been Chair of the Labor & Employment Group for 10 years and a member of the Management Committee for three years. He is the former Chairman of Cleveland Bridge Builders and has been on the Executive Boards of the Cleveland Leadership Center, American Jewish Committee, Beachwood Chamber of Commerce and the Cleveland Jewish News. Seth earned his law degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1995 and undergraduate degree from the Industrial & Labor Relations School of Cornell University in 1991.
Bryan Dardis acts as outside general counsel to closely held companies, real estate developers, lenders, manufacturers, contractors and service providers throughout all life cycle stages, including startup and organization, growth, maturity and exit. Bryan previously served as the firm’s co-Marketing Chair for two years. As of January 1, 2018, he is the Chairman of the Board of the Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity and was the past Board Treasurer. He is also a Board member for NAIOP Northern Ohio and Greater Cleveland Mortgage Bankers’ Association, and is a member of Northern Ohio Italian American Foundation (NOIA). Jenifere Singleton has worked in the firm’s Divorce and Family Law Group for 15 years and has developed a skill set and approach to domestic relations matters with the ultimate goal of assisting families in transition to understand and accept their “new normal.” In her role as the firm’s Administrative Partner on the Management Committee, she provides constructive feedback and resolutions to address administrative issues, while also providing assistance in guiding the direction of the firm. Jenifere is a Founding Member of the Cleveland Academy of Collaborative Professionals and is both a board member and Co-Chair of the Development Committee for the Domestic Violence & Child Advocacy Center.
