Biography

Professional Experience

Adriena Clifton joined Helsell Fetterman as a Richard S. White Fellow in 2022. She continued with the firm throughout her final year of law school as a Rule 9 intern and returned in 2023 as an associate in the firm’s litigation practice group.

Adriena grew up in the beautiful San Juan Islands, just a couple hours north of Seattle. She moved to Seattle in 2017 to attend the University of Washington, where she obtained a Political Science degree and a minor in Law, Societies, and Justice. Adriena then attended the Seattle University School of Law, graduating cum laude in 2023.

During her first summer in law school, Adriena was selected as a LEAD Fellow (Legal Employers Advancing Diversity) to work at Carney Badley Spellman. She continued there as a legal intern throughout her second year of law school. She went on to do her second summer with Helsell, and externed for the honorable Chief Justice Gonzalez of the Washington Supreme Court in her final semester of law school.

Adriena also served as Bailiff Chair of the Seattle University Moot Court Board, Vice President and President of OutLaws, and as an associate editor of the Seattle Journal for Social Justice. She has published works on the subjects of data privacy and challenges faced by female Asian American litigators.
