Courtney Culver Baker has experience throughout the State of Texas in both state and federal courts, as well as the Fifth Circuit, representing corporate, not-for-profit and individual clients both in pursuing and defending cases. Courtney has extensive experience in business and contract disputes, real estate, ad valorem taxation, fiduciary duty, professional liability and trademark infringement.
Courtney attended Baylor University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, graduating with Distinguished Honors from the Honors Program. During her time as an undergraduate, Courtney received the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience’s Award for Outstanding Psychological Research. Courtney also attended Baylor School of Law where she achieved inclusion on the Dean’s List.
Throughout her legal career, Courtney has participated in settlements and verdicts with resulting awards to her clients in excess of $192,000,000. Likewise in her defense practice, she has litigated cases where she successfully avoided multi-million dollar awards against her clients through obtaining dismissals, summary judgments, and take-nothing judgments.
Her commercial litigation experience includes representing multi-million dollar corporations as well as some of the nation’s largest insurance companies. She has drafted and negotiated contracts including Land Use Agreements, Shareholder Agreements, Buy Sell Agreements, and Stock Purchase Agreements.
In addition to her active trial and appellate dockets, Courtney Culver Baker has served as counsel to clients in the transactional arena, providing representation of corporate entities, governmental entities and individuals on contract, business, banking and lending, leasing, corporate structuring and other complex real estate matters.
