Sarah Tishler is a commercial litigator whose practice focuses on complex business disputes in state and federal courts, including intellectual property, breach of contract, and fraud claims. Her experience also includes regulatory investigations, international arbitration, securities litigation, shareholder litigation, class-action litigation, and pre-transactional advising.

She has obtained favorable results for clients at trial, through motion practice, and in out-of-court settlements. Sarah has appeared before state and federal courts, the United States Supreme Court, the International Chamber of Commerce, and the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes. Sarah’s pro bono practice focuses on immigration and civil rights matters.

Sarah is the author of “Forum Selection Clauses Head To The Supreme Court,” which discusses the question of what happens when a state passes a law that expressly bans contractual forum selection clauses that would remove a case from that state’s jurisdiction.

Sarah graduated magna cum laude from Duke University, where she was Articles Editor of the Duke Journal of Comparative and International Law. Sarah’s law review article titled A New Approach to Shareholder Standing Before the European Court of Human Rights, was published in the Duke Journal of Comparative and International Law in 2015. Sarah also holds a law degree from Sciences Po (Paris).

Sarah is fluent in French and, before law school, she worked at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy and the International Organization for Migration, both in Geneva, Switzerland. Sarah graduated summa cum laude from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Psychology, a B.A. in International Affairs, and a B.A. in French.
