Ann Hatsios who heads the firm’s Construction Litigation practice group provides the time frame for which amendments to the Construction Lien Act will become effective. In addition, she discusses how these new timelines are implemented with respect to the parties involved and the contracting process that is selected.
Nav Bhandal from our Employment & Labour practice group describes the implications of a recent decision by the Supreme Court of Canada regarding employee benefits for those full time employees working at and beyond 65 years of age.  Both employers and insurers should be aware of the decision and the likelihood of extending benefits to employees beyond the age of 64.
