Our featured articled this month is by Nav Bhandal,  an associate from our Employment and Labour practice group. Nav provides a summary of the recent overhaul to the Employment Standards Act, 2000 and the Labour Relations Act, 1995 that is set to become law.  He provides full details of how the changes will impact business owners and employees with respect to minimum wage requirements, overtime rate application for employees who work multiple positions with the same employer into overtime hours, changes to paid vacation, equal pay for equal work for casual, part-time and seasonal workers versus full-time employees, changes affecting pay rates for public holidays and changes to rules governing leaves of absence.
