NEW HAVEN, Connecticut (October 29, 2015) - In keeping with the Neubert, Pepe & Monteith’s tradition of assisting clients who have contentious and often complex disputes, the firm has launched an Alternative Dispute Resolution & Mediation practice group directed to resolution of such disputes in a non-judicial context. Neubert, Pepe & Monteith, P.C. currently provides alternative dispute resolution and mediation (ADR) services in their Healthcare Law, Bankruptcy & Creditor Rights, Construction Law & Design Professionals Liability, and Medical Malpractice & Hospital Liability Defense practice areas.
Attorney Gregory J. Pepe has been appointed an arbitrator in a national managed healthcare dispute pitting a company which provides home care services and durable medical equipment (DME) for patients against a carve-out payor for those services. The case involves roughly 30,000 disputed claims which the arbitrators have worked to reduce to fewer than one thousand for dispute resolution, to be followed by statistical extrapolation to the larger body of disputed claims.
“The firm’s ability to work as arbitrators and mediators on highly complex problems leads to cost effective and prompt resolution for the parties when compared to the costs and timelines involved in court proceedings,” said Attorney Pepe. “We look forward to expanding these services in areas where our familiarity with the underlying law and business makes us uniquely suitable to act as arbitrators and mediators.”
