The law firm of Neubert, Pepe & Monteith, P.C. is pleased to announce the promotions of Attorneys Dennis M. Carnelli, William C. Sherman, and Derek Mello. Attorneys Carnelli and Sherman have been named as Partners of the firm and Attorney Mello has been named as Counsel to the firm.
Dennis Carnelli’s practice focuses upon business litigation, appellate matters, First Amendment litigation, and civil rights actions. His experience includes representing people, businesses, financial institutions, and government officials in a broad variety of civil matters before both state and federal courts. Attorney Carnelli is a graduate of Western New England University School of Law and Roger Williams University. He served as a law clerk for Justice Barry R. Schaller at the Connecticut Appellate Court and as an Assistant Attorney General with the Connecticut Office of the Attorney General. A U.S. Army combat veteran of the Iraq War, he is active in the veterans community where, among other things, he serves as the Chairman of the Veterans & Military Affairs Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. Attorney Carnelli is admitted to practice in Connecticut, the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
William Sherman practices in the areas of estate planning, trust and estate administration, commercial finance, and real estate law. In his estate planning practice, he represents a wide range of individuals and families in planning for the efficient transfer of assets. Attorney Sherman provides counsel to fiduciaries and beneficiaries, and has experience with both taxable and non-taxable estates, and in contested probate matters. He also provides counsel in commercial and residential real estate transactions. Attorney Sherman is a graduate of Quinnipiac University School of Law and Muhlenberg College. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut and the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.
Derek Mello is a civil litigation attorney. His practice focuses on premises liability, construction, motor vehicle, and general liability defense matters. Attorney Mello is a graduate of the George Washington University Law School and Fairfield University. He served as a legal research clerk with the Connecticut Superior Court during which time he assisted trial judges in connection with research and writing numerous court decisions. Attorney Mello is admitted to practice in Connecticut, Virginia, District of Columbia and the Federal District Court, District of Connecticut.
